Contact

Maintaining regular communication with your elderly parent is essential. You can schedule regular phone calls, video chats, or carry out frequent check-ins to show them you care. While talking to them, make sure to actively listen to their thoughts and feelings and address any concerns they may express. Sometimes, lending a compassionate ear can go a long way in easing their anxieties and strengthening your bond.

Our values

We believe that a life well lived is one that is based on strong relationships and having healthy communications. Indeed, we know that people who fare the best are the ones that lean towards addressing loneliness throughout their lives. As such, our carefully selected staff members are here to support and help you. They will call you three times each a week, at a time that suits you best.

Why address loneliness?

There is often a misunderstanding that if friends and family surround a person then you cannot feel lonely. That is not the case. Loneliness is a feature of life and our clients tell us that there are many reasons for feeling like this and sometimes there may not be any obvious reasons at all. However, we believe that there are things we can do and we will do, that can help.

At ‘a friend is calling’, we believe that merely talking to someone in confidence and feeling that someone has simply listened to you is a key to addressing loneliness. After all, there is a deep human longing that exists in all of us; that is to be first heard and then feel that we have been understood.
